Ohm's Law (V = IR)
jee-mainjee-advancedneet-ug
V = IR
What each symbol means
| Symbol | What it stands for |
|---|---|
| I | Steady current through the conductor (A) |
| R | Resistance of the conductor (Ω) |
| V | Potential difference across the conductor (V) |
When to use this
Valid for ohmic materials at constant temperature; linear V–I. For non-linear devices (diode, bulb hot), R is not constant.
